Overview

SmartlyQ provides chatbot templates to help you get started quickly, plus comprehensive settings to customise every aspect of your bot's behaviour and appearance.

Chatbot Templates

Templates are pre-configured bot setups for common use cases:

  • Customer Support Bot — handles FAQs, order inquiries, and basic support
  • Lead Generation Bot — qualifies leads with questions and collects contact info
  • Appointment Booking Bot — helps visitors schedule meetings or calls
  • E-Commerce Bot — assists with product questions and recommendations

Using a Template

  1. Go to Automate > Chatbot > Templates
  2. Browse available templates
  3. Click Use Template
  4. Customise the bot's name, appearance, and knowledge
  5. Deploy

Chatbot Settings

Fine-tune your chatbot from the Settings page:

  • Model selection — choose which AI model powers your bot
  • Temperature — control how creative vs. focused responses are
  • Response length — set maximum response length
  • Allowed topics — restrict the bot to specific topics
  • Blocked topics — prevent the bot from discussing certain subjects
  • Escalation triggers — define when the bot should hand off to a human
  • Operating hours — set when the bot is active
  • Language — set the bot's primary language

Appearance Customisation

  • Chat widget colour — match your brand colours
  • Bot avatar — upload a custom avatar
  • Widget position — bottom-left or bottom-right of the page
  • Welcome message — customise the initial greeting
  • Input placeholder — customise the text input hint

Tip: Use templates as starting points, then customise heavily. The best chatbots feel like they were built specifically for your brand.
