How to Add Your Own OpenAI API Key to SmartlyQ

To enhance your experience and utilize your own OpenAI API key in SmartlyQ, follow these simple steps. This guide will walk you through creating and retrieving your OpenAI API key, as well as adding it to the SmartlyQ platform.

Step 1: Creating Your OpenAI API Key

1. Sign Up or Log In:

• Go to the OpenAI website.
• If you don’t have an account, sign up for a new account. If you already have one, simply log in.

2. Access the API Section:

• Once logged in, navigate to the API section of your account dashboard.

3. Create an API Key:

• Find the "API Keys" tab in the dashboard menu.
• Click on "Create API Key" or a similar button to generate a new key.

• Once the key is created, make sure to copy it. You will need this key for the next steps.

Step 2: Adding Your OpenAI API Key to SmartlyQ

1. Log into SmartlyQ: Go to smartlyq.com and log in to your account.

2. Navigate to Accounts > Account Details: Look for the Account Details settings of your SmartlyQ account. This is found in the left menu under the TOOLS heading. Expand the "Account" dropdown and select the "Account Details" option.

3. Find API Key Configuration: In the next screen select “AI Connect” from the left hand menu.

4. Paste Your API Key:

• In the provided field, paste the OpenAI API key you copied earlier.
• Make sure there are no extra spaces before or after the key when pasting.
• Make sure to select the relevant AI model for each of the platform's functions.

5. Select AI models:

• For each of the use case (Assistant model, Data Analyst model, Article Generator model and Image Generator model) select the preferred AI model. If you want to use the OpenAI API, then select any of the following AI models from the dropdown list.
  Note: Claude AI models are to be used with an Anthropic API Key only.

6. Save Changes:

• Check the box "I agree to use my OpenAI API key.".
• Ensure you click on “Save Changes” to store your changes.

Once you have saved your key, try generating content with SmartlyQ to ensure that it is using your OpenAI API key.

If you encounter any errors, double-check that your API key is correct and that your OpenAI account is in good standing.
